Belt Drum Magnetic Separator (Cobber)
Product Description
Also known as a dry cobber, the belt drum magnetic separator is used to split coarse ferromagnetic ores up to 300 mm into concentrate, middlings and gangue. The belt-fed drum is designed to present the material to the magnetic field as evenly as possible.
Because ore size distribution is wide, different magnet configurations and pole arrangements are offered. Belt speed can be varied between 0.5 and 2.5 m/s when needed.
How It Works
Material is carried onto the magnetic drum by a rubber belt. Magnetic particles are held on the drum and released into the concentrate chute at the end of the field, while non-magnetic particles are thrown forward at belt speed. A rubber-lined splitter under the drum divides the products and is easy to replace.
Applications
Pre-concentration of magnetite ore
Waste rejection from coarse ore
Dry upgrading after crushing

Handles coarse material up to 300 mm
Belt supported by idlers at the impact point
Rubber-lined, easily replaced splitter
Drive unit mounted on the rear pulley
