Electromagnetic Drum Separator
Product Description
The electromagnetic drum separator has a stationary electromagnetic coil mounted inside a steel shell. Its very strong, deep field makes it suitable for difficult, heavy-duty applications where the ferrous pieces are large and irregular.
The coil is computer-designed for maximum energy and induction efficiency and consists of a mild steel core wound with Nomex-insulated aluminium wire or anodised aluminium strip. The magnet stays stationary while the shell rotates at a speed set by the throughput.
How It Works
Depending on the process, material is fed at one of three points: over the top of the drum (ferrous discharged underneath), towards the centre of the drum (ferrous discharged against the feed direction) or under the drum (ferrous carried up and discharged over the top). In every arrangement, non-magnetic material falls freely on its natural trajectory.
Applications
Car and vehicle shredding plants
Incinerator bottom ash
Municipal waste recycling plants
Steel recovery from slag at steelworks
Scrap processing plants
Advantages
Deep, powerful magnetic field
High recovery of large, heavy ferrous pieces
Three feed arrangements for flexible layout
Shell construction for heavy duty
