Electromagnetic Lifting Magnets
Product Description
Electromagnetic lifting magnets are used to handle scrap, plate, billets, sections and similar ferrous material with a crane. They are built as circular, rectangular and custom designs to suit the application.
Duty cycle is limited to 75%, with a maximum of 15 minutes continuous operation at full load. They can be operated by remote control and designed for high-temperature service.
How It Works
When the coil is energised, a strong magnetic field forms at the magnet face and the ferrous load is held. When the power is switched off, the load is released.
Applications
Circular type: scrap and pig iron; steel, recycling, shipyard, metal and foundry industries
Rectangular type: long products such as billets, beams and bars; rolling mill outlets, rail loading and unloading
Custom type: designed to the customer's operating conditions
