AKSA Fluid Bed Separator
Product Description
The AKSA Fluid Bed Separator (AFB) is a hydraulic classifier that splits material into three products in a single unit. It combines fluidised bed technology with gravity, ultrasonication and an adjustable electromagnetic field.
With its advanced control software it uses differences in density and magnetic permeability to provide effective pre-concentration. It is designed to suit the process with diameters up to nine metres and capacities of 100–800 tonnes per hour.
How It Works
Material is suspended in water in a separate tank and fed through a cyclone at the top of the unit. As it descends it meets an upward water flow: light particles are fluidised and carried up while heavy particles settle. Ultrasonication prevents light particles from agglomerating and short-circuiting downwards, and particles with high magnetic permeability are pulled down by the electromagnetic field. The process repeats in a second chamber at lower water pressure and the lightest fraction overflows into a third chamber. Heavy products are discharged through periodically opening valves.
Applications
Mining and mineral processing plants
Iron ore, chromite, coal and industrial minerals
Recycling plants
Aggregate, slag and mill scale processing
