In-Line Magnetic Separators

Product Description

In-line magnetic separators are magnets installed directly in enclosed process lines to remove iron contamination from conveyed products. With stainless steel housings and rare earth magnets, they are used in many industries, especially food, chemicals and plastics.

They are built in three main types to suit how the line conveys: in-line magnets for pneumatic lines, centre-flow magnets that place the magnet in the middle of the stream, and gravity in-line magnets for lines where material flows under its own weight.

How It Works

As the product passes through the housing it contacts the magnet surface and ferrous particles are held there. In pneumatic types the magnet is positioned so it does not restrict flow and is withdrawn from the housing for cleaning. In centre-flow types a conical magnet suspended in the middle of the stream gives maximum product contact. Gravity types use a stepped pole design for maximum iron removal.
