Induced Magnetic Roll Separator (IMRS)
Product Description
The induced magnetic roll separator (IMRS) is a proven technology for upgrading dry non-metallic minerals, especially for the ceramics and glass industries. It continuously removes small paramagnetic particles from material between 2 mm and 45 microns.
The peak field on the induced roll is 2.2 Tesla (22,000 gauss). Added after permanent magnet separators, it noticeably improves product quality.
How It Works
Material from a hopper or vibratory feeder is fed onto the induced magnetic roll. Weakly magnetic particles are attracted by the strong field and held on the roll, while non-magnetic material leaves on an unobstructed trajectory. The captured particles are released, usually with a brush, at a point of lower field strength. A splitter between the two streams gives a clean separation.
