Plate Magnets
Product Description
Plate magnets are permanent magnetic separators mounted in chutes, ducts and enclosed lines to remove tramp iron from free-flowing or pneumatically conveyed material. They are especially suitable for dusty, damp, lumpy and abrasive products and for lines carrying large pieces that would block cartridge-type separators.
Ceramic (ferrite) models are an economical choice and withstand temperatures up to about 250 °C. Neodymium (NdFeB) models provide a stronger field that also captures very small ferrous particles.
How It Works
The plate is mounted above the product stream or on one face of the chute. As material passes in front of it, ferrous pieces are attracted to and held on the magnet face. Plates can also be mounted over conveyors or under the head pulley to catch contamination as material falls from the belt. The collected iron is cleaned off periodically.
Applications

Conveyor discharge points
Food, feed, chemical and mineral plants
