Thickener
Product Description
The thickener settles very fine solids from waste water to recover large volumes of process water and reduce the plant's tailings volume. It is built with a steel tank up to 20 m diameter and a concrete tank for larger sizes.
How It Works
Fine slurry is fed into the feed well at the top together with flocculant (polymer). Solids settle to the bottom, and a slowly rotating rake mechanism moves them to the central discharge point. Clear water is collected from the overflow launders and sent to the clean water tank. A torque-controlled hydraulic drive protects the rake from overload.
Applications
Mining and mineral processing plants
Sand washing and aggregate plants
Thickening before tailings dams
Process water recovery
Advantages
High water recovery
Robust purpose-built drive
Torque-controlled hydraulic rake lifting
Gravity or pumped feed
