Vacuum Disc Filter
Product Description
The vacuum disc filter provides continuous solid-liquid separation of concentrates and tailings using vacuum. Its key difference from other filters is uninterrupted operation. It delivers a low-moisture cake and recovers process water.
How It Works
Cloth-covered discs, driven through a gearbox and open gear, rotate in a tank filled with slurry. A vacuum pump creates a pressure difference across the filter cloth; solids form a cake on the cloth while water is drawn through. In the drying zone the cake is dewatered by vacuum and then discharged by back-blow and scrapers into a chute and onto a conveyor.
Applications
Chromium, copper, zinc, gold and iron ore concentrates
Feldspar, perlite, silica sand and quartz
Coal dewatering
Advantages
Continuous, steady operation with low vacuum loss
Effective cake discharge with back-blow and scrapers
Agitator keeps the slurry homogeneous
Inverter speed control, automatic lubrication and cloth washing
Easy operation
