Vacuum Disc Filter
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Vacuum Disc Filters are used for continuous liquid–solid separation by utilizing vacuum force.
Their most distinguishing feature compared to other filters is their ability to operate continuously without interruption.
They are used for:
• Metallic ores such as chrome, copper, zinc, gold, and iron
• Industrial raw materials such as feldspar, perlite, silica sand, and quartz
• Coal dewatering
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Vacuum Disc Filters are equipment designed for liquid–solid separation.
The filter is driven by a gearbox and open gear mechanism connected to a motor, allowing the discs to rotate at a controlled speed while the tank remains filled with slurry.
A vacuum pump creates a pressure difference across the filter medium, causing solid particles to remain on the filter cloth.
Due to the vacuum applied to the disc, the solid cake adhered to the filter surface enters the drying zone. In this zone, water is continuously removed from the product through vacuum suction.
At the end of the drying zone, the fully dried filter cake is removed by scraper blades and discharged into the outlet chute, from where it falls onto a conveyor belt.
This entire process operates continuously.
