Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) Crusher
Product Description
The vertical shaft impact crusher (VSI) is a tertiary crusher used to produce sand and chips from medium-sized hard, abrasive quarry and river material and to shape flaky material from cone crushers into cubic particles.
It is particularly effective on the hardest materials and has become one of the main machines for manufactured sand.
How It Works
Material falls from the feed hopper into the high-speed rotor and is thrown out by centrifugal force. Particles break by striking each other and the crusher wall (rock-on-rock, autogenous crushing). The crushed material discharges at the bottom, and the final size is set by the screening circuit.
Applications
Sand, chips and gravel for concrete and asphalt
Cubic product in limestone, basalt and dolomite quarries
Fine material for road construction
Size reduction of cement raw materials before milling
Bauxite, glass, industrial raw materials and manufactured sand
