Wet Drum Magnetic Separator
Product Description
The wet drum magnetic separator continuously recovers magnetic and strongly magnetic minerals from slurries. It is widely used to recover magnetite and ferrosilicon in dense medium circuits, to upgrade magnetite ores and in coal washing plants.
For applications where product purity is critical, high-intensity models are available that also capture fine and weakly magnetic particles. The tank style is selected for the ore and process: concurrent, counter-rotation or counter-current.
How It Works
Slurry is fed evenly into the tank under the drum through the feed box. The field created by the permanent magnet assembly attracts magnetic particles to the rotating stainless steel drum shell. They are carried out of the magnetic field and discharged into the concentrate launder, while non-magnetic material leaves through the tank outlet as tailings.
