Wet Electromagnetic Filter
Product Description
The wet electromagnetic filter is a high-gradient magnetic separator that captures fine iron and weakly magnetic (paramagnetic) particles from liquids and slurries. It is used to improve the whiteness and purity of ceramic slips, glazes, kaolin, feldspar and quartz suspensions.
Field strength is adjustable from 4,000 to 20,000 gauss. It is an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical purification.
How It Works
Slurry passes through a stainless steel matrix magnetised by the coil. The high-gradient field around the matrix wires holds ferromagnetic and paramagnetic particles while the cleaned product continues through the outlet. At set intervals the flow is stopped, the coil is switched off and the matrix is flushed to discharge the captured material.
Applications
Ceramic and porcelain slips, glazes
Feldspar, quartz and kaolin suspensions
Glass raw materials
Food liquids (e.g. chocolate lines)
Advantages
High efficiency on fine and weakly magnetic contamination
Timed automatic operation with pneumatic valves
Two units can run in tandem for uninterrupted flow during cleaning
Enclosed design, no contact with the environment
Easy installation and control
